Corlanor (ivabradine) is a medication primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic heart failure. Specifically, it is prescribed to reduce the risk of hospitalization for worsening heart failure symptoms in patients with stable, symptomatic chronic heart failure with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) at or below 35%.
  • Take Corlanor exactly as directed by your healthcare provider, typically starting with a recommended dose of 5 mg twice daily.
  • Take the medication by mouth with food.
  • Follow your healthcare provider's instructions regarding the dosage and timing of Corlanor.
  • Measure the dose carefully using a special measuring device or spoon provided by the manufacturer if you are using the liquid form of Corlanor.
  • Take Corlanor twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart between doses.
  • Take Corlanor at the same time each day to maintain a consistent level of the medication in your body and maximize its effectiveness.
  • Take the missed dose as soon as you remember, unless it is close to the time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
  • Avoid using a household spoon to measure Corlanor liquid, as it may not provide the correct dose.
  • Do not consume grapefruit or grapefruit juice while using Corlanor without consulting your healthcare provider, as it may increase the chance of side effects.
The dosage of Corlanor is determined by your healthcare provider based on your medical condition, response to treatment, and other factors. The recommended starting dose of Corlanor is usually 5 mg twice daily with food. After two weeks of treatment, the dose may be adjusted based on heart rate and response to the medication.

This is not an exhaustive list, and other side effects may occur. If you experience any unusual or severe side effects while taking Corlanor,  contact your healthcare provider for medical advice.
Here are some warnings and precautions to consider when taking Corlanor:
  1. Severe Liver Disease: Corlanor should not be used in patients with severe liver disease.
  2. Low Blood Pressure: Corlanor should not be used in patients with very low blood pressure.
  3. Slow Resting Heart Rate: Corlanor should not be used in patients with a slow resting heart rate, serious heart conditions such as "sick sinus syndrome" or 3rd-degree "AV block" (unless a pacemaker is present), or if a pacemaker is relied upon to control heart rate.
  4. Drug Interactions: Corlanor may interact with other medications. Inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking, including prescription, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
