Vastarel MR (Trimetazidine hcl)

Do’s

• Always take Vastarel MR exactly as your healthcare provider has instructed you. If you have any questions or concerns, consult with your healthcare provider for clarification.
• The recommended dose of Vastarel MR is one tablet to be taken twice a day during meals, once in the morning and once in the evening. Swallow the tablets whole.
• Vastarel MR is not recommended for use in children.
• In some cases, your healthcare provider may adjust the recommended dose if you have kidney problems or if you are older than 75 years old. Follow your healthcare provider’s instructions regarding the dosage adjustments.
• For patients with severe kidney disease, Vastarel MR is not recommended. If you have any concerns about your kidney function, discuss them with your healthcare provider.
• If you accidentally take more Vastarel MR than you should, contact your healthcare provider or the nearest hospital emergency department immediately for further guidance.
• If you forget to take one or more doses of Vastrel MR, continue with the regular dosing schedule as prescribed. However, if you have any concerns or questions about missed doses, consult with your healthcare provider for guidance.

Don’ts

• Do not chew the tablets. 
• Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Common Side Effects:

• Gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain
• Headache
• Flushing (reddening of the skin)
• Dizziness

Uncommon Side Effects:

• Allergic reactions, such as skin rash or itching
• Low blood pressure
• Increased heart rate
• Muscle cramps

Rare Side Effects:

• Severe allergic reactions, including swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
• Fainting or loss of consciousness
• Changes in liver function tests

Do not take Vastarel MR if you are allergic to any of its components. If you have any known allergies or contraindications, inform your healthcare provider before starting Vastarel MR.
