Prinivil, also known as Lisinopril, is utilized in the treatment of high blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure is essential for reducing the risk of strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Additionally, it is also used to manage heart failure and improve survival after a heart attack, highlighting its broader applications in cardiovascular health.

Lisinopril belongs to a class of drugs called ACE inhibitors. Its mechanism of action involves relaxing blood vessels, which facilitates easier blood flow. By promoting vasodilation, Lisinopril helps to reduce the strain on the heart and improve overall blood circulation.
