Prinzide is utilized in the treatment of high blood pressure, aiming to reduce the risk of strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems associated with elevated blood pressure levels.

Prinzide contains two active ingredients: lisinopril, an ACE inhibitor that relaxes blood vessels to facilitate improved blood flow, and hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic that promotes increased urine production to help the body eliminate excess salt and water.

This product may be prescribed when a single medication is insufficient in controlling high blood pressure.

Do’s

  • Take Prinzide exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, with or without food.
  • Take it once daily in the morning, ideally.
  • If nighttime urination troubles you, take it at least 4 hours before bedtime.
  • If taking cholesterol-lowering resins (cholestyramine or colestipol), separate Prinzide by 4 hours before or 4-6 hours after.
  • Take Prinzide consistently, preferably at the same time each day.
  • Continue taking Prinzide even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
  • Inform your healthcare provider if your blood pressure improves or worsens.

Don'ts

  • Don't take more or less medication than prescribed.
  • Don't stop taking Prinzide without consulting your healthcare provider.
