Atacand (Candesartan) is a medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), heart failure, and to prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems

It belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs), which work by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily.

Atacand is not recommended for use in children younger than 1 year due to an increased risk of side effects

Do's

  • Follow your healthcare provider's instructions precisely regarding dosage and frequency (once or twice daily).
  • Take Atacand at the same time(s) each day for optimal effectiveness.
  • Atacand works with or without food, so choose what works best for you.
  • Stick with it. It might take up to 6 weeks to experience the full blood pressure-lowering effect.

Don'ts
