CATAPRES-TTS 3 Patch is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), either alone or in combination with other medications. Lowering high blood pressure is important for preventing strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.

Clonidine, the active ingredient in CATAPRES-TTS 3 Patch, belongs to a class of drugs called central alpha agonists. It acts in the brain to lower blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels, thereby facilitating easier blood flow.

The medication's ability to relax blood vessels supports the prevention of serious health complications associated with high blood pressure, such as strokes, heart attacks, and kidney issues.
