DrugDescription: Vasotec is an ACE inhibitor. ACE stands for angiotension converting enzyme. Vomiting, heavy sweating, or diarrhea can cause you to become dehydrated while using Vasotec. This may lead to very low blood pressure, electrolyte disorders, or kidney failure while taking Vasotec. Drink plenty of water each day while taking Vasotec. In order to make sure that this medication is working for you, have your blood pressure and kidney and liver function tested on a regular basis. Do not miss any scheduled appointments. If you require surgery, tell your surgeon that you are taking Vasotec before surgery. If you are being treated with Vasotec for high blood pressure, keep using this medication even if you feel fine. Often, high blood pressure has no symptoms. If you miss a dose of Vasotec, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
