Naftin Cream (Naftifine hcl)

Do’s

• Use Naftin Cream only on the skin as directed by your healthcare provider.
• Clean and dry the affected area thoroughly before applying.
• Apply a thin layer to the affected area and surrounding skin, rubbing it in gently.
• Wash your hands after use, unless treating your hands.
• Use the cream or gel according to your healthcare provider's instructions (usually once or twice daily).
• Continue using Naftin Cream for the entire prescribed duration, even if symptoms improve.
• Tell your healthcare provider if your condition worsens or doesn't improve.

Don'ts

• Don't apply Naftin Cream in your eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina. Rinse thoroughly with water if contact occurs.
• Don't wrap, cover, or bandage the treated area unless instructed by your healthcare provider.
• Don't use Naftin Cream more often or for longer than prescribed.
• Don't stop using Naftin Cream early, even if symptoms seem to disappear.

Common side effects:

• Burning
• Stinging
• Irritation
• Redness
• Dryness
• Itching
• Inflammation
• Softening and breakdown of skin
• Blisters
• Serous drainage
• Crusting

Serious side effects that may require immediate medical attention include:

• Sudden vision loss
• Blurred vision
• Tunnel vision
• Eye pain or swelling
• Seeing halos around lights
• Allergic reaction symptoms, such as rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, or trouble breathing

This is not an exhaustive list, and other side effects may occur. If you experience any unusual or severe side effects while taking Naftin cream,  contact your healthcare provider for medical advice.

Tell your healthcare provider about any allergies you have, especially to Naftin itself, other allylamine antifungals (like terbinafine), or any other ingredients in the cream.

Inform your healthcare provider of your medical history before using Naftin cream.

Disclose all medications you take (prescription, non-prescription, and herbal) to your healthcare provider before surgery.

Naftin should only be used during pregnancy if absolutely necessary. Discuss risks and benefits with your healthcare provider.

It's unknown if Naftin passes into breast milk. Avoid applying the cream near the breast to minimize potential infant exposure. Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding.
