Eucrisa ointment is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate eczema (atopic dermatitis) in both adults and children who are at least 3 months old.

Do’s

  • Before starting to use Eucrisa ointment and each time you get a refill, read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist. If you have any questions, ask your healthcare provider.
  • Eucrisa ointment is usually applied twice daily to the affected area of the skin. Before applying the medication, wash and dry your hands, then clean and dry the affected area. 
  • Apply a thin film of the medication to the affected area and gently rub it in as directed by your healthcare provider.
  • Use the medication regularly at the same time(s) each day to get the most benefit from it. 
  • Your healthcare provider may instruct you to reduce the number of times you use this medication once your eczema clears up. Consult your healthcare provider for details.
  • Eucrisa ointment is for use on the skin only.  
  • After applying this medication, wash and dry your hands, unless you are using it to treat the hands.
  • Follow your healthcare provider's instructions for use and consult them if your condition lasts or gets worse. 

Don’t

  • Avoid getting the medication in the eyes, mouth, or vagina. If this occurs, rinse with plenty of water.
  • Burning or stinging on the skin
  • Application site pain

Eucrisa ointment is generally well-tolerated, and serious side effects are rare. However, if you experience any unusual or severe side effects while using this ointment, consult your healthcare provider for further guidance and evaluation.

Store Eucrisa ointment at room temperature and away from children and pets.

Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed.

Patients should discontinue Eucrisa ointment and seek medical attention immediately if signs or symptoms of hypersensitivity occur. Hypersensitivity reactions, including contact urticaria, have occurred in patients treated with Eucrisa ointment and should be suspected in the event of severe pruritus, swelling, and erythema at the application site or at a distant site. 

Do not use Eucrisa ointment if you are allergic to crisaborole or any of the ingredients. Consult with your healthcare provider if you have any known allergies.

It is not known if Eucrisa ointment is safe and effective in children under 3 months of age. Discuss the use of this medication in children with your healthcare provider.

Eucrisa ointment used on the skin is not likely to be affected by other drugs you use. However many drugs can interact with each other. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all medicines you use, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
