Dermasone Solution (Clobetasol Propionate)

Do's

• Wash hands thoroughly before and after applying Dermasone Solution.
• Apply the solution only to the affected areas as directed by your healthcare provider.
• Apply a thin film of the medication and rub it in gently.
• Avoid applying to your face, groin, or underarms unless specifically instructed by your healthcare provider.
• Follow the dosage and application schedule prescribed by your healthcare provider.
• Inform your healthcare provider if you experience any side effects.

Don'ts

• Do not use Dermasone Solution for longer than prescribed by your healthcare provider.
• Do not use an occlusive dressing (airtight bandage) unless directed by your healthcare provider.
• Do not use Dermasone Solution on broken or infected skin.
• Do not stop using Dermasone Solution abruptly without consulting your healthcare provider, especially if you've been using it for a long time.
• Do not use Dermasone Solution for any condition other than what your healthcare provider prescribed it for.
• Do not share Dermasone Solution with others.

Common side effects

• Stinging
• Burning
• Irritation
• Dryness
• Redness at the application site

Serious side effects

• Acne
• Unusual hair growth
• Small red bumps on the skin (folliculitis)
• Skin thinning/discoloration
• Stretch marks
• Serious allergic reaction (rash, itching/swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing)

Let your healthcare provider know if you have allergies to hydrocortisone, other corticosteroids, or any ingredients in Dermasone.

Talk to your healthcare provider if you have any health problems, especially itching in the genital area with vaginal discharge.

Dermasone can worsen skin infections. Do not use it on infected or sore skin. Stop using it and tell your healthcare provider if redness, swelling, or irritation appears.

Children are more sensitive to corticosteroids. Consult your healthcare provider before using Dermasone on a child.

Use Dermasone only if clearly necessary while pregnant. Discuss risks and benefits with your healthcare provider.

It's unknown if Dermasone passes into breast milk. Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding while using Dermasone.
