Edex continuing pack is a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It's intended for people who have already been prescribed Edex and are familiar with how to use it.

The continuing pack is not for first-time users. You should be trained by your healthcare provider on proper injection techniques before using Edex. When you inject alprostadil from the continuing pack cartridge into your penis, it increases blood flow to that area, causing an erection.

The continuing pack typically contains multiple single-use cartridges pre-filled with alprostadil, the medication that helps achieve erection.

Depending on the specific pack you get, it may or may not include needles and alcohol swabs for injection preparation. Always check the packaging information.

Do's

  • Use the Edex Kit as directed by your healthcare provider. Follow the recommended dosage and frequency of use.
  • Before injecting each dose, clean the injection site on the penis with rubbing alcohol.
  • Change the location of the injection site with each dose to avoid problem areas under the skin. Choose an injection site on the other side of the penis from the site of the last dose, using a different area each time.
  • After injecting the medication, apply pressure to the injection site with an alcohol swab for about 5 minutes to avoid bruising.
  • Use a straight needle to inject the medication. If the needle is bent, replace it with a new one.
  • If the needle breaks during injection, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
  • Check the medication in the Edex Kit visually before use. If you notice any particles or discoloration, do not use the liquid.
  • Learn how to store and discard needles and medical supplies safely. Consult your healthcare provider for instructions on proper disposal.

Don'ts

  • Do not use the Edex Kit without proper instruction from your healthcare provider. Follow your healthcare provider's guidance for the correct dosage and frequency of use.
  • Do not reuse needles or medical supplies. Always use a new needle for each injection and dispose of used needles properly.
  • Do not exceed the recommended usage of the Edex Kit. Do not use the medication any more than 3 times a week, with at least 1 day between each dose.
  • If the medication does not produce an erection or if it becomes more difficult to get an erection, inform your healthcare provider. Do not adjust the dosage or frequency without consulting your healthcare provider first.
