Staxyn (Vardenafil)

Do’s

• Take Staxyn exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, typically about 1 hour before sexual activity.
• Take Staxyn with or without food.
• Take only one dose per day, with at least 24 hours between doses.
• Dry your hands before handling the tablet.
• Remove the tablet from the blister pack right before use and place it on your tongue to dissolve.
• Allow the tablet to dissolve completely before swallowing. Do not crush or split it.

Don'ts

• Don't take Staxyn more than once a day.
• Don't take Staxyn with any liquid.
• Don't eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking Staxyn unless your healthcare provider approves it.
• Don't switch between Staxyn and other vardenafil medications (like film-coated tablets) without consulting your healthcare provider.
• Don't hesitate to talk to your healthcare provider if your erectile dysfunction doesn't improve with Staxyn.

Common side effects:

• Flushing (sudden warmth, redness, or tingly feeling)
• Stuffy nose
• Sinus pain
• Upset stomach
• Headache
• Back pain

Serious side effects that may require immediate medical attention include:

• Swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet
• Shortness of breath
• A light-headed feeling, like you might pass out
• Seizure (convulsions)
• Serious symptoms during sexual activity, such as severe dizziness, fainting, chest/jaw/left arm pain, or nausea

Any allergies to vardenafil or inactive ingredients in Staxyn.

Report your medical history, especially:

• Heart problems (recent heart attack, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, heart failure)
• Stroke in the past 6 months
• Kidney disease (dialysis)
• Liver disease
• High or low blood pressure
• Dehydration
• Penis conditions (angulation, fibrosis, Peyronie's disease)
• History of priapism (painful/prolonged erection)
• Conditions that increase priapism risk (sickle cell anemia, leukemia, etc.)
• Eye problems (retinitis pigmentosa, vision loss, NAION)
• Bleeding disorders
• Active stomach ulcers

Staxyn may cause dizziness or vision changes. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or activities requiring alertness until you know how the medication affects you. Limit alcohol and marijuana use while taking Staxyn.

Staxyn may contain aspartame. Consult your healthcare provider if you have phenylketonuria (PKU) or need to limit aspartame in your diet.

Inform your healthcare provider about all medications you take before having surgery.

Staxyn is not typically used by women or during pregnancy/breastfeeding. Consult your healthcare provider if you have any questions.
