Ponstan, also known as Mefenamic Acid, is used for the short-term relief of mild to moderate pain stemming from various conditions, including headache, dental pain, menstrual cramps, and muscle aches. Its application in addressing these specific types of pain underscores its role as an analgesic for diverse pain conditions.

Mefenamic acid belongs to the class of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the body's production of certain natural substances that cause inflammation. This anti-inflammatory effect helps to decrease swelling, pain, or fever, addressing the underlying inflammatory processes associated with pain and discomfort.

The dual action of Ponstan in alleviating pain and reducing inflammation highlights its versatility in addressing multiple symptoms, including pain, swelling, and fever. This broad application underscores its potential to provide comprehensive relief for a range of conditions.
