Edex Continuing Pack (Alprostadil)

Do's

Use the Edex Kit as directed by your healthcare provider. Follow the recommended dosage and frequency of use.

Before injecting each dose, clean the injection site on the penis with rubbing alcohol.

Change the location of the injection site with each dose to avoid problem areas under the skin. Choose an injection site on the other side of the penis from the site of the last dose, using a different area each time.

After injecting the medication, apply pressure to the injection site with an alcohol swab for about 5 minutes to avoid bruising.

Use a straight needle to inject the medication. If the needle is bent, replace it with a new one.

If the needle breaks during injection, contact your healthcare provider immediately.

Check the medication in the Edex Kit visually before use. If you notice any particles or discoloration, do not use the liquid.

Don'ts

Do not use the Edex Kit without proper instruction from your healthcare provider. Follow your healthcare provider's guidance for the correct dosage and frequency of use.

Do not reuse needles or medical supplies. Always use a new needle for each injection and dispose of used needles properly.

Do not exceed the recommended usage of the Edex Kit. Do not use the medication any more than 3 times a week, with at least 1 day between each dose.

If the medication does not produce an erection or if it becomes more difficult to get an erection, inform your healthcare provider. Do not adjust the dosage or frequency without consulting your healthcare provider first.

Common side effects of Edex Continuing Pack (alprostadil) may include:

Mild to moderate pain or discomfort at the injection site.

Bruising or clotted blood in the penis at the injection site.

Redness or swelling at the injection site.

Lightheadedness or dizziness.

Serious side effects of Edex Continuing Pack may include:

Prolonged or painful erection lasting more than 4 hours (priapism). This is a medical emergency, and immediate medical attention is required to prevent permanent damage to the penis.

Fainting or severe dizziness.

Fast or irregular heartbeat.

Chest pain or discomfort.

Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath.

This is not an exhaustive list, and other side effects may occur. If you experience any unusual or severe side effects while taking Edex continuing pack, contact your healthcare provider for medical advice.

Disclose any allergies to Alprostadil or any ingredients in the Edex Continuing Pack.

Inform your healthcare provider  about any pre-existing health problems, especially:

Penis conditions (angulation, fibrosis/scarring, Peyronie's disease)

Blood system cancers (leukemia, multiple myeloma)

Sickle cell anemia

Inform your healthcare provider about all medications you take (including Edex Continuing Pack) before any surgery.

Edex Continuing Pack does not protect against sexually transmitted infections. Always use a condom during sexual activity to reduce infection risk. Consult your healthcare provider for more details.
