Anugesic HC ointment is a medication used for the treatment of various conditions, including hemorrhoids, pain and itching caused by sunburn, insect bites, scrapes, minor cuts and burns, itching/swelling in the rectum and anus, intestinal problems, ulcerative colitis of the rectum, rectal pain, bloody diarrhea, and skin infections.

It contains three active ingredients: hydrocortisone acetate, pramoxine hydrochloride, and zinc sulfate. Hydrocortisone works by preventing cells from producing inflammatory chemicals, and reducing inflammation at the site of application.

Pramoxine helps to relieve pain and discomfort associated with conditions like hemorrhoids. Zinc sulfate has astringent properties, which means it helps to shrink and constrict blood vessels. This can help reduce swelling and promote healing in the affected area.
