Westcort Cream is a medium-potency corticosteroid indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses in adult patients.

It contains hydrocortisone valerate, a synthetic corticosteroid for topical dermatologic use. The corticosteroids constitute a class of primarily synthetic steroids used topically as anti-inflammatory and antipruritic agents.

Hydrocortisone valerate reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in various skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, allergies, and rash.

Do’s

  • Use exactly as prescribed. Apply Westcort Cream only to the affected areas as directed by your healthcare provider.
  • Wash and dry the affected area thoroughly before applying the cream.
  • Apply a thin film of the cream to the affected area.
  • Avoid bandaging the treated area unless specifically instructed by your healthcare provider. Bandaging can trap moisture and worsen irritation.
  • Continue using Westcort Cream for the full prescribed duration, even if symptoms improve. Stopping too early may allow the condition to return.
  • Tell your healthcare provider if your condition worsens or doesn't improve after using Westcort Cream for the prescribed time.

Don'ts

  • Don't use it for other conditions: Don't use Westcort Cream to treat any other skin condition without consulting your healthcare provider.
  • Don't use it if you are allergic. Don't use Westcort Cream if you are allergic to hydrocortisone or any other ingredients in the cream.
  • Don't apply to eyes, nose, or mouth. Avoid contact with eyes, nose, or mouth.
