Valisone G Cream (Betamethasone/Gentamicin)

Dos

Wash and dry your hands before applying the cream.

Clean and dry the affected area before applying.

Apply a thin film of the cream to the affected area, 1-3 times daily as directed by your healthcare provider.

Wash your hands after applying (unless treating hands).

Inform your healthcare provider if your condition improves or worsens after 2 weeks.

Don'ts

Don't use it on the face, groin, or underarms unless directed by your healthcare provider.

Don't use bandages, cover, or wrap the area unless directed by your healthcare provider.

Don't get the cream in your eyes, nose, or mouth. Rinse with plenty of water if contact occurs.

Don't use the cream for longer than prescribed.

Don't use the cream for a condition other than what it was prescribed for.

Common Side Effects:

Local skin reactions: Burning, itching, dryness, irritation, redness, stinging

Acne or pimples

Skin softening

Serious Side Effects:

Unusual redness

Burning

Itching at the application site.

Lack of healing of the skin condition 

Increased redness

Swelling, pus drainage

Worsening pain at the application site.

Allergic reactions: Hives, wheezing, trouble breathing, or facial swelling require immediate medical attention.

This is not an exhaustive list, and other side effects may occur. If you experience any unusual or severe side effects while taking Valisone g cream, contact your healthcare provider for medical advice.

Tell your healthcare provider about any allergies you have, especially to Valisone Cream, other corticosteroids, or any of its inactive ingredients.

Inform your healthcare provider about your medical history, particularly poor blood circulation, diabetes, or immune system problems.

Do not use Valisone Cream on infected or sore areas of the skin.

Long-term or widespread use of Valisone Cream may reduce your body's ability to respond to physical stress. Inform your healthcare provider about Valisone Cream use before any surgery, emergency treatment, or serious illness/injury.

Long-term use of Valisone Cream may slow down a child's growth. Regular healthcare provider visits are recommended to monitor your child's height.

Valisone Cream should only be used during pregnancy if clearly necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare provider.

It is unknown if Valisone Cream passes into breast milk. Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding to weigh the benefits and risks.
