Tykerb
(Lapatinib)

Tykerb is a medication used in the treatment of a certain type of advanced or metastatic breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.

Keep Tykerb at room temperature, protected from moisture and heat.

Let your doctor know of any conditions especially if you have heart disease, liver disease, or a personal or family history of “Long QT syndrome” as this may result in a change of dosage. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan on becoming pregnant, or are breast-feeding as Tykerb can harm an unborn and nursing child.

Avoid the consumption of grapefruits and grapefruit juice as they could cause a dangerous interaction with Tykerb.

Take Tykerb exactly as your doctor has directed you to do so. Take Tykerb on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or after eating. Take your dose at roughly the same time every single day. Generally, the dosage is 5 tablets. You may take these tablets all at once.

Do not take Tykerb if you are allergic to Lapatinib.

Serious side effects may include: allergic reaction; uneven heart rate; extreme dizziness or fainting; severe diarrhea; dry cough, feeling short of breath; white patches or sores inside your mouth or on your lips; or nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss

Less severe side effects can include: upset stomach, mild diarrhea; pain or redness on the palms of your hands or the soles of your feet; tired feeling; dry skin; or sleep problems.
