Vioform Hydrocortisone Cream (Clioquinol/Hydrocortisone)

Do’s

• Clean and dry: Wash and thoroughly dry the affected area before applying the cream.
• Thin layer: Apply a thin film of the cream to the affected area, 3-4 times daily as directed by your healthcare provider.
• Gently rub in: Gently rub the cream into the skin.
• Wash hands (after): Wash your hands after applying, unless treating your hands.
• Follow the healthcare provider's instructions: Use the medication exactly as prescribed, for the prescribed duration.
• Use consistently: Apply the cream at consistent times each day for best results.
• Finish the medication: Continue using the cream until the prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms improve.
• Inform your healthcare provider: Tell your healthcare provider if your condition worsens or persists after using the cream.

Don'ts

• Don't use it on eyes, nose, mouth, vagina. Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina. Rinse thoroughly with water if contact occurs.
• Don't use the cream more often or for longer than prescribed.
• Don't wrap or cover.  Don't bandage, cover, or wrap the treated area unless your healthcare provider instructs you to.
• Don't suddenly stop using the cream without talking to your healthcare provider.

Common side effects may include:

• Burning sensation
• Irritation
• Dry skin
• Itching
• Skin rash

Serious side effects may include:

• Serious allergic reactions, such as trouble breathing, and swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
• Large sores, broken skin, or severe skin injury at the application site

Tell your healthcare provider about any allergies you have, especially to clioquinol, hydrocortisone, other 8-hydroxyquinolines, other corticosteroids, iodine, or any of the cream's inactive ingredients.

Inform your healthcare provider about your medical history, particularly if you have tuberculosis of the skin, viral skin/eye infections (herpes, chickenpox), immune system problems, or poor blood circulation.

Vioform Hydrocortisone Cream may stain clothes, skin, nails, or hair. Be cautious while applying to avoid staining.

Children may be more sensitive to the effects of Vioform Hydrocortisone Cream. Consult your healthcare provider for specific instructions regarding children's use.

Vioform Hydrocortisone Cream should only be used during pregnancy if clearly necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare provider.
