Do’s

  • Topicort gel is intended for topical use only and should not be used orally, ophthalmically, or intravaginally.
  • Before applying the medication, wash and dry your hands, as well as the affected area of the skin.

  • After applying the medication, wash your hands unless you are using Topicort gel to treat your hands specifically.
  • Use Topicort gel only for the condition prescribed by your healthcare provider.
  • If your condition does not improve or worsens after using Topicort gel, inform your healthcare provider.

This is not an exhaustive list of side effects, and others may occur. If you experience any unusual or bothersome side effects while using Topicort gel, consult your healthcare provider.

Topicort gel can be absorbed into the bloodstream in sufficient amounts to produce systemic effects. This is more likely to occur when using large amounts of the medication or when using it for a prolonged period. Follow the prescribed dosage and duration of use.

If you are breastfeeding, minimize potential exposure to the breastfed infant via breast milk. Use Topicort gel on the smallest area of skin and for the shortest duration possible while breastfeeding. Avoid applying it directly to the nipple and areola to avoid direct infant exposure.

For elderly patients, dose selection should be cautious, usually starting at the low end of the dosing range. This is because elderly individuals may have decreased hepatic, renal, or cardiac function, as well as concomitant diseases or other drug therapies that can affect the absorption and metabolism of Topicort gel.

This is not an exhaustive list of warnings and precautions. Consult your healthcare provider or refer to the medication guide for comprehensive and personalized information regarding the use of Topicort gel.
