Vasodilan (Isoxsuprine)

Do’s

• Follow your healthcare provider's instructions: Take Vasodilan exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, including dosage, frequency, and duration.
• Take with or without food: You can take Vasodilan with or without food, but take it at the same time each day for best results.
• Swallow whole: Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush, chew, or break it.
• Inform healthcare provider of changes: Tell your healthcare provider if your condition improves or worsens after taking Vasodilan.

Don'ts

• Don't take more than prescribed: Never take more Vasodilan than prescribed by your healthcare provider.
• Don't share medication: Don't share your Vasodilan with others, even if they have similar symptoms.
• Don't stop talking abruptly: Don't suddenly stop taking Vasodilan without talking to your healthcare provider first.

Common side effects:

• Headache
• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Dizziness
• Flushing
• Increased heart rate
• Low blood pressure

Serious side effects:

• Allergic reactions: Seek immediate medical attention if you develop hives, have trouble breathing, or experience swelling of your tongue or throat after taking Vasodilan.
• Weakness
• Irregular heartbeat
• Numbness/tingling
• Yellowing of the skin or eyes
• Dark urine
• Persistent nausea

If you are allergic to isoxsuprine or any of the ingredients in Vasodilan.

There is no sufficient data on the safety of Vasodilan for pregnant women. Consult your healthcare provider before taking it if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

It is unknown if Vasodilan passes into breast milk. Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding if you are taking Vasodilan.

Vasodilan may cause dizziness. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or activities requiring alertness until you know how the medication affects you.

Vasodilan may cause nausea and vomiting. Take it with food or milk to minimize stomach upset.

Alcohol consumption can worsen dizziness caused by Vasodilan. Limit alcohol intake while taking this medication.

Vasodilan may affect certain lab tests. Inform your healthcare provider about all medications you're taking before undergoing any lab tests.
