Stelazine (trifluoperazine) is utilized to address specific mental and mood disorders, such as schizophrenia and psychotic disorders.  Belonging to the class of drugs known as antipsychotics, trifluoperazine functions by aiding in the restoration of the balance of certain natural substances in the brain. It has also been used for the short-term treatment of anxiety, although safer drugs for anxiety treatment should be considered before trifluoperazine.
