Lidex Gel (Fluocinonide)

Dos

• Follow the prescription exactly as directed by your healthcare provider.
• Clean and dry the affected area thoroughly before applying the cream.
• Apply a thin layer of the cream and gently rub it in until evenly distributed.
• Wash your hands immediately after applying the cream unless treating the hands.
• Use the cream consistently at the same times each day.
• Protect the treated areas from activities that may wash off the cream if treating the hands.

Don'ts

• Do not use more than the recommended dose or apply it more frequently than instructed.
• Do not use the cream if you have any infections or open wounds in the area to be treated unless advised by your doctor.
• Do not discontinue use abruptly without consulting your healthcare provider.
• Do not use the cream on children under the age of 12 unless directed by a healthcare provider.

Common Side Effects

• Burning, irritation, itching, or redness of the skin (usually mild and temporary)
• Change in skin pigmentation
• Dry, flaking skin
• Excessive hair growth over the body
• Heat rash
• Increased redness or scaling of skin sores (usually mild and temporary)
• Skin rash (usually mild and temporary)
• Skin redness
• Thick, leathery skin
• Wet or soggy feeling to the skin

Serious Side Effects:

• Allergic reactions such as rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing
• Signs of skin infection, such as increased pain, swelling, redness, or pus
• Thinning of the skin, easy bruising, or stretch marks
• Unusual weight gain, swelling, or tiredness
• Vision problems or eye pain

Talk to your healthcare provider about any allergies, especially to fluocinonide, other corticosteroids, or any inactive ingredients.

Disclose Medical Conditions to your healthcare provider including:

• Poor blood circulation
• Immune system problems

Do not use Lidex Cream on infected or sore skin.

Long-term or large-area use may reduce your body's ability to respond to stress. Inform your healthcare provider if you plan to have surgery, emergency treatment, or experience a serious illness/injury while using Lidex Cream or within the past few months.

Long-term use in children may slow growth. Regular healthcare provider visits are recommended to monitor height.

Lidex Cream should only be used during pregnancy if clearly necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare provider.

Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding as it's unknown if the medication passes into breast milk when applied to the skin.
