Estrace is a hormone replacement therapy containing estrogen. It reduces symptoms of menopause caused by decreased estrogen production in the body (hot flashes, vaginal dryness). For treating symptoms in and around the vagina, consider topical products (applied directly inside the vagina) before oral, transdermal (absorbed through the skin), or injected medications.
  • Take Estrace exactly as directed by your healthcare provider, including timing (with or without food) and dosage.
  • Swallow extended-release tablets whole.
  • Take Estrace regularly at the same time(s) each day for maximum benefit.
  • Inform your healthcare provider if your condition doesn't improve or worsens while taking Estrace.
  • Do not crush, chew, or dissolve extended-release tablets. This can release all the medication at once, increasing side effects.
  • Do not adjust your dose or take Estrace more often or for longer than prescribed.
