Fosamax Plus D is a medication used to treat certain types of bone loss, specifically osteoporosis, and to increase bone mass. Osteoporosis leads to a reduction in bone density, making bones thinner and more susceptible to fractures.

This product is a combination of two medicines: alendronate and cholecalciferol (vitamin D3).

Alendronate operates by slowing down bone loss, thereby aiding in the maintenance of strong bones and reducing the risk of fractures. It belongs to a class of medications known as bisphosphonates.

On the other hand, vitamin D3 plays a vital role in facilitating the absorption of calcium by the body and is necessary for the formation of healthy bones.
