Flagystatin Suppository (Metronidazole/Nystatin)

Do's

• Wash your hands thoroughly with mild soap and warm water before handling the suppository.
• Get into a comfortable position for insertion, like lying on your back with knees bent or squatting.
• If using a pre-filled applicator: Skip inserting it into the vagina.
• If using a suppository without an applicator: Moisten it slightly with clean water for easier insertion.
• Insert the suppository gently as far back into the vagina as comfortably as possible.
• Follow the prescribed dosage and duration: This is typically one suppository daily for 7-10 days, but consult your healthcare provider for specific instructions.

Don'ts

• Don't touch the suppository with anything other than clean hands.
• Don't insert the suppository orally - it's meant for vaginal use only.
• Don't douche while using Flagystatin.
• Don't have sexual intercourse for at least 10 minutes after insertion to allow the medication to disperse.
• Don't use tampons while using Flagystatin suppositories. Pads are recommended.
• Don't use Flagystatin suppositories if you're pregnant or breastfeeding unless your healthcare provider specifically advises it.
