Livial is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) used to relieve symptoms of oestrogen deficiency in postmenopausal women and to prevent osteoporosis in women at high risk of fractures who cannot take other medications used for osteoporosis prevention

  • Continue taking Livial even if you feel well. It helps manage menopausal symptoms and reduce the risk of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.
  • Maintain a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet and regular exercise as recommended by your healthcare provider.
  • Tell your healthcare provider about all your medications and herbal products you are taking, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs.

Don'ts

  • Don't take more or less Livial than prescribed by your healthcare provider.
  • Don't skip or stop taking Livial without consulting your healthcare provider.
  • Don't crush, chew, or break the tablets.
  • Don't take Livial if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Don't take Livial if you have a history of blood clots, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, or certain types of cancer.

Common Side Effects:

  • Bleeding or spotting between menstrual periods
  • Breast pain or tenderness
  • Weight gain
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Vaginal discharge or itching
  • Mood changes
  • Acne

Serious Side Effects:

Livial is not recommended during pregnancy as it can harm the developing baby. Discuss alternative therapies with your healthcare provider if pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

It is unknown if Livial passes into breast milk. Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding while using Livial.

Limit alcohol intake while using Livial, as it can increase the risk of developing lactic acidosis, a buildup of lactic acid in the blood.

Livial may not be effective for all women and may take some time to show improvement in symptoms.

Regular checkups with your healthcare provider are recommended to monitor your progress and address any concerns.

Livial may increase the risk of blood clots, especially in women with a history of blood clots or certain risk factors (e.g., prolonged bed rest, smoking, obesity).
