Elmiron, also known as pentosan polysulfate sodium, is a medication specifically indicated for the relief of bladder pain or discomfort associated with a condition known as interstitial cystitis.   • Elmiron should be used only as prescribed by your healthcare provider, and any changes to the dosage or frequency should be discussed with them.


  • Do not increase your dose or take Elmiron more often or for longer than prescribed. Your condition will not improve any faster, and your risk of side effects will increase.
