Dovonex Solution (Calcipotriol)

Do's

• Apply Dovonex solution only to the affected areas of your scalp, as directed by your healthcare provider.
• Before applying, comb your hair to remove any scaly flakes.
• Apply the prescribed amount and gently rub it in as directed by your healthcare provider, usually twice a day.
• Be careful not to get the solution on your forehead, face, eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina. Rinse thoroughly with water if accidental contact occurs.
• Wash your hands with soap and water after using the Dovonex solution.
• Keep the application area clean and dry.
• Use Dovonex solution regularly at the same times each day for maximum benefit.
• Inform your healthcare provider if your scalp condition improves or worsens after using the medication.

Don'ts

• Don't apply Dovonex solution more often or for a longer duration than prescribed by your healthcare provider.
• Don't stop using the Dovonex solution without consulting your healthcare provider.
• Don't apply the solution to broken, infected, or irritated skin.

Common Side Effects (usually mild and improve within days of use):

• Skin irritation
• Burning
• Stinging
• Itching
• Redness
• Dryness
• Peeling at the application site

Serious Side Effects (Less Common, require attention):

• Severe or persistent skin irritation
• Psoriasis worsening
• Signs of infection: Watch out for increased redness, swelling, or pus drainage from the treated area.
• Elevated calcium levels
  • Confusion
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Constipation
  • Increased thirst or urination
  • Weight loss
