R and C Shampoo and Conditioner (Piperonyl Butoxide/Pyrethrins - non Rx)

Indication : This medication is used to treat lice infections on the head, body, and pubic areas. The louse absorbs the R & C product in their body which acts on their nervous system leading to death. R & C products does not affect humans the same way it does on lice.

Storage : Store at room temperature. Keep away from direct light, heat, and children. Do not freeze the medication. Discard any outdated medication or medicine that is no longer needed.

Precaution : Before using R & C products, inform your doctor if you are allergic to pyrethrins, piperonyl butoxide, ragweed, chrysanthemum plants, or kerosene or other petroleum products; if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or breastfeeding; or if you have any other medical problems.

Warnings : When using R & C products, it is important to also wash all personal clothing, head gear, pillow cases, etc in dry clean or washed in hot water and dried in a drier with the hot cycle for at least 20 minutes. Ensure all members of the household is treated to prevent re-infestation. Make sure the house or rooms are vacuumed thoroughly and all hairbrushes and combs are soaked in hot water for at least 5 to 10 minutes.

Patient Family Information: Read the directions on the prescription label. Do not take larger doses than prescribed by your doctor. Do not take this medication longer than recommended by your doctor. Take this medication as directed by your doctor. When using R & C products, avoid areas near the eyes, mouth, or vagina because it can cause irritation and do not inhale because it can be harmful if inhaled or swallowed. Apply the R & C products in a well–ventilated room (ie. With a fan turned on). Flush eyes with water, if medication gets in your eyes. Ask your doctor if your eyelashes or eyebrows become infected with lice or else avoid those areas. If you have the R & C spray, spray enough medicine to wet dry hair and scalp or skin. Leave on for exactly 10 minutes and then thoroughly wash off with warm water and soap or regular shampoo. Dry the area with a clean towel. If you have the R & C shampoo, apply enough shampoo to wet dry hair and scalp or skin. Leave on for exactly 10 minutes. Add on a small amount of water

Contraindication : Do not use R & C products if you are allergic to the products or any of the ingredients.

Sever Side Effects : Severe: None.

Common Side Effects : Common: Skin rash or infection, skin irritation that occurs only after using R & C products; sudden attack of sneezing; stuffy or runny nose; wheezing or difficulty in breathing.
