Tribenzor (Olmesartan/Amlodipine/Hydrochlorothiazide)

Do’s

• Before starting Tribenzor, read the Patient Information Leaflet provided by the pharmacist. If you have any questions, consult your healthcare provider.
• Take Tribenzor by mouth with or without food, as directed by your healthcare provider, usually once daily.
• To avoid the need to wake up to urinate, take this medication at least 4 hours before bedtime if possible.
• The dosage is determined based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Follow the dosage prescribed by your healthcare provider.
• Take this medication regularly at the same time each day to maximize its benefits. 
• Even if you feel well, continue taking the medication as prescribed. It may take up to 2 weeks to experience the full benefit of this drug.
• If you are also taking certain drugs to lower your cholesterol (bile acid-binding resins such as cholestyramine, colestipol), take Tribenzor at least 4 hours before or at least 4 to 6 hours after these medications.
• Inform your healthcare provider if your condition does not improve or if it worsens (such as if your blood pressure readings remain high or increase).

Common Side Effects:

• Dizziness
• Lightheadedness
• Fainting when getting up from a lying or sitting position (get up slowly to minimize these effects)

Serious Side Effects:

• Chest pain that worsens or a heart attack

If you experience chest pain that worsens or does not go away, seek medical help immediately.

Discuss any side effect concerns with your healthcare provider and promptly report any experienced side effects.

Tribenzor can potentially cause harm or death to an unborn baby. Discontinue the medication as soon as pregnancy is detected. Alternative antihypertensive therapy should be considered during pregnancy. Additionally, nursing women should not breastfeed during treatment with Tribenzor.

In a controlled clinical trial, no overall differences in the efficacy or safety of Tribenzor were observed in geriatric patient populations. However, greater sensitivity of some older individuals cannot be ruled out. 

There are no specific studies of Tribenzor in patients with hepatic insufficiency. Both amlodipine and olmesartan medoxomil show moderate increases in exposure in patients with severe hepatic impairment. Consult a healthcare provider for guidance in such cases.

Always inform your healthcare provider about any other medications or supplements you are currently taking, including prescribed and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and dietary or herbal supplements. Tribenzor may interact with other drugs, and discussing potential interactions with a healthcare provider is necessary.
