  • The dosage of Paxil CR is determined by your healthcare provider and is based on various factors such as your medical condition, response to treatment, age, and other medications you may be taking. Your healthcare provider may start you on a low dose and gradually increase it to reduce the risk of side effects.
  • Paxil CR is taken orally, by mouth. It can be taken with or without food, as directed by your healthcare provider. Taking this medication with food may help decrease nausea.
  • If Paxil CR makes you sleepy during the day, you can discuss with your healthcare provider about taking it in the evening.  Swallow the tablets whole.
  • To get the most benefit from Paxil CR, take it regularly and at the same time each day. This helps maintain a consistent level of the medication in your body.
  • If you are taking Paxil CR for premenstrual problems, your healthcare provider may direct you to take it every day of the month or just for the 2 weeks before your period through the first full day of your period.

  • If your condition does not improve or if it worsens, inform your healthcare provider as they may need to adjust your treatment plan.
