Risperdal M is not approved for the treatment of patients with dementia-related psychosis. Elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis treated with antipsychotic drugs are at an increased risk of death. There is also a higher incidence of cerebrovascular adverse events in patients treated with risperidone compared to those treated with placebo. Risperdal M should be used cautiously in patients at risk for aspiration pneumonia.

Risperdal M, like other atypical antipsychotic drugs, may be associated with an increased risk of high blood sugar levels, diabetes mellitus, and related complications. This risk is influenced by factors such as pre-existing diabetes, obesity, and family history. Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels is recommended during treatment.

Risperdal M may interact with other medications. Inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking. It may also cause drowsiness, so caution should be exercised when operating machinery or driving.

Risperdal M should be used with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
