Do’s

  • Before starting or refilling a prescription for Wellbutrin XL, read the Medication Guide provided by your pharmacist and consult your healthcare provider if you have any questions.
  • Take Wellbutrin XL by mouth with or without food as directed by your healthcare provider, usually once daily in the morning. Swallow the tablets whole.
  • If you experience stomach upset, you may take this medication with or after a meal or snack. Taking this medication late in the day may cause trouble sleeping (insomnia).

  • It may take 4 weeks or longer before you get the full benefit of this drug. Inform your healthcare provider if your condition does not improve or if it worsens.

Don’ts

  • Do not increase your dose or use this drug more often or for longer than prescribed, as your condition will not improve any faster, and your risk of side effects will increase.
