Nolvadex D is used to treat breast cancer and reduce the chances of breast cancer in high-risk patients .
It works by blocking the growth of breast cancer cells by interfering with the effects of estrogen in the breast tissue.
Treatment length with tamoxifen depends on the specifics of the cancer diagnosis, and most people take it for at least five years and sometimes up to 10 years.
Tamoxifen is also being studied for its potential use in other types of cancer.
