Directions:

When you are prescribed Brilinta, your doctor will give you specific instructions on how to take it. Typically, you will be instructed to take Brilinta with a meal.

If you forget to take it with a meal, do not worry – just take it as soon as you remember. Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Brilinta. Swallow the Brilinta tablet whole; do not chew or break it.

Caution:

If you have active bleeding (including a stomach ulcer that is bleeding) or a history of brain bleeding, you shouldn’t use Brilinta. Never use this medication right before a heart bypass procedure (coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG).

To avoid severe bleeding, you might need to temporarily stop taking this medication before having surgery or dental operations. Even if you exhibit bleeding symptoms, do not stop taking Brilinta without first consulting a medical professional. Stopping this medicine may increase your risk of heart attack or stroke.

If you experience bleeding that won’t stop, call your doctor or get emergency help. Additionally, you might experience internal bleeding in your stomach or intestines, for example. Call your doctor immediately if you have bloody or black stools, red or pink urine, cough up blood, or vomit resembling coffee grounds. These might indicate internal bleeding.

If you take Brilinta along with several medications, including some over-the-counter medicines and natural remedies, you could experience severe medical issues. It’s crucial to let your doctor know about the medications you’ve lately taken.

Brilinta Side Effects:

Like all medications, Brilinta has potential side effects. Some of the most common side effects of Brilinta include bleeding and bruising. Other potential side effects include chest pain, shortness of breath, and confusion. It is important to discuss any potential side effects with your healthcare provider before taking Brilinta.

Brilinta vs Plavix

The heart is a vital organ that helps pump blood throughout the body. When the heart isn’t working properly, it can cause a number of health problems.

One way to help keep your heart healthy is by taking medication prescribed by your doctor. There are a number of different medications available to help keep your heart healthy, but two of the most popular are Brilinta and Plavix. So, which one is better?

Brilinta and Plavix are anti-platelet medications that help prevent blood clots from forming. Both medications are effective, but Brilinta may be a little more effective. Brilinta has also been shown to help reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in people with a previous heart event.
