Systemic absorption occurs with the use of Premarin Vaginal Cream. The warnings, precautions, and adverse reactions associated with oral Premarin treatment should be taken into account.
There is an increased risk of stroke and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) with estrogen-alone therapy. An increased risk of pulmonary embolism (PE), DVT, stroke, and myocardial infarction (MI) has been reported with estrogen plus progestin therapy. If any of these occur or are suspected, the use of Premarin Vaginal Cream should be discontinued immediately. Risk factors for arterial vascular disease and/or venous thromboembolism should be managed appropriately.
Premarin Vaginal Cream exposure has been reported to weaken latex
Inform your healthcare provider if you have had or will be having surgery, or if you will be confined to a chair or bed for a long time, as these conditions may increase the risk of getting blood clots, especially when using an estrogen product like Premarin Vaginal Cream.
