Synarel Nasal Spray is indicated for the following purposes:

  1. Hormonal Management of Endometriosis: Synarel Nasal Spray is used for the hormonal management of visually proven endometriosis. It helps in providing pain relief and reducing endometriotic lesions.
  2. Controlled Ovarian Stimulation: Synarel Nasal Spray is also used in controlled ovarian stimulation programs prior to in vitro fertilization (IVF) under the supervision of an infertility specialist.

Do’s

  • Before starting to use Synarel nasal spray, read the Medication Guide provided by your pharmacist. If available, also read the Patient Information Leaflet.
  • Follow the illustrated directions provided with the medication for the proper use of Synarel nasal spray. If you have any questions, consult your healthcare provider for clarification.
  • If you are using a new bottle of Synarel nasal spray for the first time, follow the instructions for test sprays in the air. A fine mist indicates that the spray is working properly.
  • Gently blow your nose before using Synarel nasal spray. For very young children, it may be necessary to clear the nose with a bulb syringe.
  • Use Synarel nasal spray as directed by your healthcare provider, usually twice daily, with approximately 12 hours between each dose.
  • If you need to use more than one spray at a time, wait for 30 seconds between each spray.
  • Clean the spray tip after each use. Follow the detailed instructions provided for cleaning the spray tip.
  • The dosage and length of treatment with Synarel nasal spray will be determined by your healthcare provider based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Use the medication exactly as prescribed.
  • Consult your healthcare provider to determine how long each bottle of Synarel nasal spray should last.
  • If you need to use a nasal decongestant spray while using Synarel nasal spray, wait at least 2 hours after using Synarel before using the decongestant.
  • When starting Synarel nasal spray, you may experience an initial worsening of symptoms (such as increased vaginal bleeding in women with endometriosis or certain symptoms for children with early puberty). These symptoms should improve after the first month of treatment. If your symptoms do not improve or worsen after 2 months of treatment, inform your healthcare provider.

Don’ts

  • Avoid spraying the medication in your eyes. Additionally, try to avoid sneezing during or immediately after using Synarel nasal spray, as this may reduce the amount of medication absorbed.
  • Do not skip any doses.
  • Do not use the nasal spray bottle longer than recommended, even if there is medication left over, as you may not receive a full dose. Make sure to get your medication refills a few days early to avoid running out.
  • Do not increase your dose or use Synarel nasal spray more frequently or for a longer duration than prescribed by your healthcare provider. It will not improve your condition faster and may increase the risk of side effects.
