Do’s

• Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water before and after using the cream.
• Follow your healthcare provider's instructions exactly regarding dosage and frequency of application.
• Use the applicator provided if one is included with the cream. It helps ensure proper placement of the medication.
• Apply the cream at bedtime unless your healthcare provider instructs otherwise. This allows for maximum medication absorption while you're lying down.
• Continue using the cream for the full course of treatment prescribed by your healthcare provider, even if symptoms improve. This helps ensure complete elimination of the fungal infection.
• Wear loose-fitting cotton underwear to allow for proper ventilation.
• Inform your healthcare provider if you experience any side effects such as burning, itching, or irritation.

Don'ts

• Don't douche while using nystatin vaginal cream. Douching can disrupt the natural balance of vaginal flora and hinder treatment effectiveness.
• Don't use tampons or other vaginal products while using nystatin vaginal cream. These products can also disrupt the vaginal environment and may interfere with treatment.
• Don't have sexual intercourse while using nystatin vaginal cream unless your healthcare provider specifically says it's okay. Sexual intercourse can spread the infection to your partner.
• Don't share your nystatin vaginal cream with anyone else. This medication is prescribed for your specific infection and may not be suitable for someone else.
• Don't use nystatin vaginal cream for longer than prescribed by your healthcare provider.
• Don't use nystatin vaginal cream if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without first consulting with your healthcare provider.

Common side effects of Nystatin Vaginal Cream may include:

• Vaginal irritation, itching, or redness
• Discomfort or burning sensation in the vaginal area
• Mild vaginal discharge

Serious side effect:

• Severe burning, itching, rash, or pain in the vaginal area
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as hives, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
