Lamisil (Terbinafine)

Do's

• Take Lamisil as directed by your healthcare provider. 
• Take it usually once daily with or without food. 
• Wait for several months after finishing treatment for full benefit as new nails grow to replace infected ones. 
• Complete the full prescribed course, even if symptoms improve, to prevent recurrence. 
• Contact your healthcare provider if your condition does not improve or worsens. 

Don'ts

• Don't discontinue the treatment prematurely, even if symptoms improve. 

Dosage and treatment length depends on your specific condition and response to the medication. 

Common Side Effects:

• Headache
• Diarrhea
• Rash
• Upset stomach
• Abnormal liver function tests
• Itching
• Change in taste
• Nausea
• Stomach pain
• Gas

Serious Side Effects:

• Allergic reaction such as hives, difficulty breathing, or swelling in your face or throat
• Severe skin reaction, such as a fever, sore throat, burning in your eyes, skin pain, or a red or purple skin rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling
• Dark urine
• Pale stools
• Upper abdominal or stomach pain
• Yellowing of the skin or eyes
• Mental/mood changes
• Unexplained bleeding/bruising
• Signs of kidney problems

This is not an exhaustive list, and other side effects may occur. If you experience any unusual or severe side effects while taking  Lamisil,  contact your healthcare provider for medical advice.

Inform your healthcare provider about any allergies, including both Lamisil and inactive ingredients.

Disclose your medical history, especially if you have:

• Immune system problems
• Kidney disease
• Liver disease
• Lupus

Daily intake can increase the risk of serious side effects.

Lamisil increases sun sensitivity. Minimize sun exposure, use sunscreen, and wear protective clothing. Inform your healthcare provider immediately about sunburns or skin irritation.

Inform your healthcare provider or dentist about all medications you use, including Lamisil.

Lamisil should only be used if clearly necessary. Discuss risks and benefits with your healthcare provider.

Lamisil passes into breast milk. Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding.
