Diflucan Dispersible (Fluconazole)

Do’s

Take Diflucan Dispersible exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, considering dosage, frequency, and duration. It's usually taken once daily.

Take with or without food. You can take Diflucan Dispersible with or without food.

Shake well (liquid suspension only). If using the liquid form, shake the bottle thoroughly before each dose to ensure even distribution of the medication.

Use the provided measuring device/spoon to ensure the correct dosage. Avoid using household spoons, as they may lead to inaccurate measurements.

Take Diflucan Dispersible at the same time each day for consistent medication levels in your body, promoting effective treatment.

Continue taking Diflucan Dispersible for the full prescribed duration, even if symptoms improve, to eradicate the infection completely. Stopping early can lead to the infection recurring.

Tell your healthcare provider if your condition doesn't improve or worsens after taking Diflucan Dispersible.

Don'ts

Don't skip doses. Try your best to take Diflucan Dispersible as directed by your healthcare provider to maximize its effectiveness.

Common Side Effects:

Dizziness

Drowsiness

Nausea

Vomiting

Loss of coordination

Unusual eye movements

Muscle twitching

Double/blurred vision

Tingling of the hands/feet

Excessive hair growth

Increased thirst/urination

Unusual tiredness

Serious Side Effects:

Slow heartbeat

Trouble speaking

Confusion

Facial changes (such as swollen lips, butterfly-shaped rash around the nose/cheeks)

Allergic reactions (hives, difficulty breathing, swelling in the face or throat)

Severe skin reactions (fever, sore throat, burning in the eyes, skin pain, red or purple skin rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling)

Disclose any allergies to Fluconazole, other azole antifungal drugs, or any ingredients in Diflucan Dispersible.

Inform your healthcare provider about any pre-existing health problems, especially:

Liver disease

Kidney disease

Fluconazole may affect your heart rhythm. Tell your healthcare provider about any heart problems or medications that may affect heart rhythm, and your family history of heart rhythm problems.

Low potassium or magnesium levels can worsen heart rhythm problems. Discuss if you use diuretics, experience excessive sweating/diarrhea/vomiting, or have other conditions that may affect these minerals.

Diflucan Dispersible may cause dizziness. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or activities requiring alertness until these effects subside. Limit alcohol consumption and discuss marijuana use with your healthcare provider as these can worsen dizziness.

Inform your healthcare provider about all medications you take (including Diflucan Dispersible) before any surgery.

Older adults may be more sensitive to side effects, especially rash, vomiting, diarrhea, and heart rhythm problems.

Diflucan Dispersible may harm an unborn baby, especially during the first trimester. Discuss risks and benefits with your healthcare provider, especially if you are planning pregnancy, become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Fluconazole passes into breast milk but is unlikely to harm a nursing infant. Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding.
