Corlanor (ivabradine) is a medication primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic heart failure. Specifically, it is prescribed to reduce the risk of hospitalization for worsening heart failure symptoms in patients with stable, symptomatic chronic heart failure with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) at or below 35%.
Do's
  • Take Corlanor exactly as directed by your healthcare provider, typically starting with a recommended dose of 5 mg twice daily. 
  • Take the medication by mouth with food.

Don'ts
  • Avoid using a household spoon to measure Corlanor liquid, as it may not provide the correct dose. 
  • Do not consume grapefruit or grapefruit juice while using Corlanor without consulting your healthcare provider, as it may increase the chance of side effects. 
The dosage of Corlanor is determined by your healthcare provider based on your medical condition, response to treatment, and other factors. The recommended starting dose of Corlanor is usually 5 mg twice daily with food. After two weeks of treatment, the dose may be adjusted based on heart rate and response to the medication. 
Common Side Effects:
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Temporary brightness in part of your field of vision (phosphenes)
  • Slow or irregular heartbeats
  • Sensitivity to light

  4. Drug Interactions: Corlanor may interact with other medications. Inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking, including prescription, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
