Aspirin Extra Strength tablet should be taken exactly as directed by your doctor. It should be taken with at least one glass of water. Taking it with milk and food can help reduce the risk of side effects.

• Drink a full glass of water with each dose
• Adults and children 12 years and over: take 1 to 2 tablets every 4 hours while symptoms last. Do not take more than 12 tablets in 24 hours unless directed by a doctor
• Children under 12 years: consult a doctor

Keep the tablets at room temperature, away from the influence of heat and moisture.

Common Side Effects of Aspirin tablets

Less severe side effects include: headaches, drowsiness, stomach pain, and heartburn. If you are feeling unsure about anything make sure to talk to your doctor.

Severe Side Effects of Aspirin 500MG

Some serious side effects caused by Aspirin tablets include allergic reactions such as: trouble breathing, hives, and swelling of the face, throat, lips, and tongue. You should contact your doctor or emergency help as soon as possible if any of these occur

Alcohol should be avoided when using Aspirin Extra Strength tablets. Do not use any other medication in addition to aspirin without first asking your doctor. You should also not take any NSAID while using this medication. This includes Advil, Motrin, Orudis, etc.

Precautions

There are also some conditions such as liver disease, heart disease, and various others that require a dose adjustment. Make sure your doctor is fully aware of your medical condition before using aspirin tablets. If pregnant, inform your doctor. In addition, this medication should never be given to a child that has a fever as this could cause Reye's syndrome.

Contraindication

Aspirin Extra Strength tablets should not be taken if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in it. It should also not be taken with some other drugs. Talk to your doctor about this. If you have experienced stomach bleeding, intestinal bleeding, or hemophilia do not use this medication.
