Acuvail is indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation following cataract surgery.

Do’s

  • The recommended dosage for Acuvail is to apply one drop to the affected eye(s) twice daily beginning 1 day prior to cataract surgery, continued on the day of surgery, and through the first 2 weeks of the postoperative period.
  • Wash your hands before applying the medication.
  • Tilt your head back, look upward, and pull down the lower eyelid to create a pouch.
  • Place one drop into the pouch and close your eyes for 1 to 2 minutes, applying gentle pressure at the corner of your eye to prevent the medication from draining out.
  • For single-use vials, open the vial right before use and discard any remaining solution after use.
  • If using other eye medications, wait at least 5 minutes between applications.
  • Wait for your vision to clear before driving or operating machinery.
  • Follow your healthcare provider’s instructions carefully and inform them if your condition persists or worsens.
  • Always use the medication exactly as prescribed and directed on the prescription label to ensure its effectiveness and minimize the risk of serious side effects.

Don’ts

  • Avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination.
  • Do not wear contact lenses while using this medication.
  • Do not use this medication more often or for longer than directed by your healthcare provider, as prolonged use may increase the risk of serious side effects.
