The root of the word “uveitis” is uvea, the pigmented layer in the eye that is affected by inflammation.

It is important that this condition is taken seriously and that people seek treatment because it can lead to vision loss. Symptoms for this condition tend to worsen very quickly and it is best to seek medical advice if you suspect that you may have uveitis.
