Do’s

Before using Lutrepulse and each time you get a refill, read the Patient Information Leaflet provided by your pharmacist. If you have any questions, consult your healthcare provider.

The dosage of Lutrepulse is determined by your medical condition and response to treatment. Your healthcare provider will prescribe the appropriate dosage for you. Follow their instructions carefully.

Lutrepulse is typically administered either by injection into a vein or under the skin using an infusion pump. The specific method of administration will be determined by your healthcare provider.

If you are using this medication at home, learn all the preparation and usage instructions from your healthcare provider and the medication package. Follow all instructions for using the infusion pump.

Before using the medication, visually check the solution for particles or discoloration.

Before each dose, clean the injection site with rubbing alcohol. 

If you are injecting the medication under the skin, change the injection site as directed by your healthcare provider to lessen injury under the skin. 

If you are injecting the medication into a vein, you do not need to change the injection site unless directed by your healthcare provider.

Keep all medical appointments so that your healthcare provider can closely monitor your response to the medication and adjust the dosage if necessary.

Follow the instructions provided by your healthcare provider for proper storage and disposal of the medication.

Don’ts

Do not change the prescribed dose unless directed to do so by your healthcare provider.

Do not mix the medication until you are ready to use it.

Do not use the solution if particles or discoloration are present.

These side effects have been reported by at least 1% of people using Lutrepulse. Not everyone will experience these side effects, and many of them can be managed or may go away on their own over time.

In rare cases, Lutrepulse may cause allergic reactions. If you experience difficulty breathing, swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, or hives, seek emergency medical attention.

Lutrepulse may interact with other medications you are taking. Inform your healthcare provider about all the medications, supplements, and herbal products you are currently using to avoid any potential interactions.

Ovarian hyperstimulation, a condition characterized by enlarged ovaries and fluid accumulation in the abdomen, has been reported in some cases. This may be related to the dosage or concomitant use of other ovulation stimulators. Adhere to the recommended doses and undergo appropriate monitoring of follicle formation to minimize the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation.

Lutrepulse treatment has been associated with a 12% incidence of multiple pregnancies. If you are undergoing Lutrepulse therapy, your healthcare provider will closely monitor your response to minimize the risk of multiple pregnancies.
