Uribel (Methenamine/Methylene blue/ Sodium Phosphate Monobasic/Phenyl Salicylate/Hyoscyamine)

Do’s

• Take Uribel by mouth as directed by your healthcare provider, usually 4 times a day. Each dose should be taken with a full glass of water (8 ounces/240 milliliters). 
• Drinking plenty of fluids while being treated with this medication is advised unless otherwise directed by your healthcare provider. If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food.
• The dosage of Uribel is based on your medical condition, age, and response to treatment.
• Antacids may decrease the absorption and effectiveness of Uribel. If you are also taking antacids, take Uribel at least 1 hour before antacids.
• For the best effect, take this medication at evenly spaced times. To help remember, take it at the same times each day.
• If your condition does not improve in a few days or if you develop signs of a urinary tract infection (such as burning/painful/frequent urination), inform your healthcare provider.

Don’ts

• Do not lie down for at least 10 minutes after taking this medication.
• Do not increase the dose or use this drug more often or for longer than prescribed, as doing so will not improve the condition any faster and may increase the risk of side effects.
• Caffeine can increase the side effects of Uribel. Avoid consuming large amounts of beverages containing caffeine (coffee, tea, colas), eating large amounts of chocolate, or taking nonprescription products that contain caffeine.

• Rapid pulse
• Dizziness
• Blurred vision

If these symptoms occur, stop taking Uribel right away and contact a healthcare provider. 

There is a possibility of allergic reactions if there has been a previous reaction to belladonna alkaloids, such as atropine and scopolamine.

Uribel can interact with many other drugs, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. However, do not stop taking any medications without your healthcare provider's advice.

Before using Uribel, disclose to your healthcare provider if you have any of the following conditions:

• Glaucoma
• Heart diseases
• Stomach ailments
• Bladder obstruction
• Intestinal ulcers
• Myasthenia gravis
• Enlarged prostate 

Properly discard Uribel when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your healthcare provider for proper disposal instructions.

Uribel should be stored in a tight, light-resistant container at controlled room temperature (15-30°C or 59-86°F) in a cool, dry place. The container should be kept tightly closed, and keep all drugs, including Uribel, out of reach of children.
