Luvox CR is used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), a mental health condition characterized by intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors that can significantly impact daily life.

The active ingredient in Luvox CR, fluvoxamine, belongs to a class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It works by helping to restore the balance of a certain natural substance (serotonin) in the brain. This mechanism is integral to the management of symptoms associated with OCD.

By affecting the serotonin levels in the brain, Luvox CR aims to address the underlying neurochemical imbalances that contribute to the symptoms of OCD. This restoration of balance can potentially alleviate the distressing effects of the condition.
