Invega is used to treat specific mental/mood disorders, including:

  • Schizophrenia: A severe condition affecting how someone thinks, feels, and behaves.
  • Schizoaffective disorder: A combination of symptoms from both schizophrenia and a mood disorder (like bipolar disorder).

Invega belongs to a class of drugs called atypical antipsychotics. These differ from older antipsychotics in their mechanisms of action and potentially have fewer side effects.

Invega works by influencing the balance of certain natural chemicals in the brain. This helps manage the symptoms of the targeted mental health conditions.
