Ilevro Ophthalmic Suspension (Nepafenac)

Do’s

• Use Ilevro exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. This includes following instructions on dosage, frequency, and duration of use (usually 1 day before surgery, day of surgery, and 2 weeks after).
• Wash your hands thoroughly before each dose to prevent contamination.
• Shake the bottle well before each use to ensure proper mixing of the medication.
• Tilt your head back, look upwards, and pull down your lower eyelid to create a pouch for the drop.
• Place one drop into the pouch created by your lower eyelid.
• Close your eyes gently for 1-2 minutes after applying the drop. Avoid blinking or rubbing your eye.
• Repeat for the other eye if directed by your healthcare provider.
• Replace the dropper cap tightly after each use.
• Wait at least 5 minutes before applying other eye medications (drops or ointments). Use eye drops before ointments.
• Wait for your vision to clear before driving or operating machinery.
• Inform your healthcare provider if your eye condition worsens or persists.

Don'ts

• Don't touch the dropper tip to your eye or any other surface to avoid contamination.
• Don't use Ilevro while wearing contact lenses. Consult your healthcare provider for guidance.
• Don't rinse the dropper after use.
• Don't use more medication or use it more often than prescribed by your healthcare provider.
• Don't use Ilevro for longer than 2 weeks without consulting your healthcare provider. Prolonged use can increase the risk of serious side effects.

Common side effects may include:

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Eye discomfort
• Watery eyes
• Dryness in the eyes
• Itching

Serious side effects may include:

• Sudden vision loss
• Blurred vision
• Tunnel vision
• Eye pain or swelling
• Seeing halos around lights
• Serious allergic reactions, such as rash, itching, swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, or trouble breathing
• Contaminated solutions leading to serious eye damage and vision loss
• Infection or injury to the eye

This is not an exhaustive list, and other side effects may occur. If you experience any unusual or severe side effects while taking Ilevro opthalmic suspension, contact your healthcare provider for medical advice.

Discuss any allergies to nepafenac, aspirin, other NSAIDs (like ibuprofen), or inactive ingredients (like benzalkonium chloride) with your healthcare provider.

Inform your healthcare provider about:

• Asthma (especially worsened by aspirin or NSAIDs)
• Bleeding problems
• Previous eye surgery
• Other eye problems (dry eye, corneal issues)
• Diabetes
• Rheumatoid arthritis
• Nasal polyps

Ilevro may cause temporary blurred or unstable vision. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or activities requiring clear vision until your vision returns to normal.

Use Ilevro during pregnancy only if clearly necessary. Discuss risks and benefits with your healthcare provider.

It is unknown if Ilevro passes into breast milk. Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding.
